The melody is a sleeker version of O'Neill's ten-part "[[Morgan Rattler]]," but the ancestor appears to be "[[Jackson's Bouner Bougher]]," attributed to the gentleman-piper Walker 'Piper' Jackson, printed in Dublin about 1774 in '''Jackson's Celebrated Irish Tunes'''.
