The 37th Regiment of Foot [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/37th_%28North_Hampshire%29_Regiment_of_Foot] was originally raised in 1702 in Ireland, where it was originally called by the name of a succession of Colonels. With the reorganization of the army in 1751 it was designated the 37th Regiment of Foot, and, in 1782 when the army associated regiments with counties, it became the 37th (North Hampshire) Regiment of Foot.

The march is also contained in the '''Woburn (Mass.) Fife Manuscript''', a ms. collection inscribed with the the name Seth Johnson and "Woburn. April 20th day, 1807. I Bought this Book, 5:3." Entries were made between 1807 and as late as 1840. It can also be found in the mid-19th century music manuscript copybook of flute player William Killey (Jurby, Isle of Mann).
