Under the title "[[Mrs. Stewart's Reel]]" the tune was printed in '''Tracy's selection of present favorite country dances''', a small volume published in Dublin in the 1790's by a dancing master named Tracy. John Macpherson Mulhollan printed the tune as "[[Mr. Stuart of Rossie's Reel]]" in his '''Selection of Irish and Scots Tunes''' (Edinburgh, 1804).
