This template sorts articles into [[:Category:Articles with trivia sections]].

== Placement ==

Editors should '''not''' use this template to tag sections they consider trivial (i.e., which topically address something the editor does not think should be covered). In accordance with [[Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trivia sections)|Wikipedia:Trivia sections]], this template should only be placed at the top of sections that contain ''indiscriminate'' and ''unselective'' lists.

To help with the categorization of articles, please use the optional date parameter, e.g. <code><nowiki>{{trivia|</nowiki>date={{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. Articles tagged with this template without the parameter will eventually be given the parameter by a [[Wikipedia:Bots|bot]].
