Jan, I'm sorry about that, I missed the notice to approve the changes. Should be OK now. BTW, the TTA wiki format automatically gives you editorial rights after you make 50 entries (which can be tunes or comments, as long as there are 50 separate pages you're adding to). After that, your entries will no longer be 'pended' for review, and you'll be able to contribute without that nuisance.
Thanks Jan, for both the correction and the article. I'd love to see it when it comes out. I've confirmed the edit.
Hi Jan. -- Thanks for the notice. Everything in the TTA can be reconstructed, repaired, adapted, etc. as the page history is available. The Foghorn version is essentially the same tune, so I included it in the original entry--great to have your abc's for the tune! The Hamblon collection is rather quirky in the original form, so other interpretations of the Hamblon tunes are most welcome.
It would be interesting to see a video, pending seeking permission from Mr. J. I haven't had much luck on my own trying to interpret the bowing.
Glad to have "John Riley" in the index, Jan. Thanks so much for posting. The problem you were having is that the abc's you entered had an "r:" field for notes on the tune. The abc program we use at the TTA doesn't recognize the 'r:' but the 'notes' field in the abc's can be changed to "N:" line heading and it works fine. I substituted 'N:' for the 'r:' in your abc's, and voila. You can hit the 'edit' button at the top of the tune to see what I mean.
I see there's some interesting bowing directions in Mr. Judelman's version of the tunes. "Double File" has, at one point, two up bows followed by two down-bows. I'll have to try that out to see if it works for me. Interesting!
Hi Jan, There was already a "Fun's All Over" (in the TTA as "Fun's All Over (1) (The)"). So as not to duplicate titles, I moved your transcription over to the entry that was already there. There were a number of transcriptions already there, and I added yours at the end (scroll down). Your versions is a nice one! I think it would help to look up a tune in "The Index" or in the Search function so as not to duplicate existing titles.
