Tune Annotations:	'''LARK ON THE STRAND [1]''' ("An Fhuiseog ar an Trá" or "An Fhuiseog 'sa Dumhach"). AKA and see "[[Droim Chonga]]," "[[Mulally's Jig]]," "[[Old Woman Lamenting Her Purse (The)]]," "[[Paddy Hughes' Jig]]," "[[Paddy the Post]]," "[[Stolen Purse (2) (The)]]." Irish, Double Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Not the tune that usually goes by this title. The 'A' part struggles delightfully between G major and A dorian, and it has been notated variously with either key signature (one sharp). Breathnach (1963) states this is a County Sligo version and title ("the original" according to "the people of Sligo") and identifies a "not very good setting" also printed in '''Irish Folk Dance Music''' (No. 137). The jig is similar to "[[Stolen Purse (1) (The)]]," but different enough to be considered a separate tune.
