PETER FEENEY’S DREAM. Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Boston button accordion player Joe Derrane, “and named for a piano player who didn’t quite exist” (Black). When playing one gig in lieu of another, Conners would protect his reputation (especially when he and Derrane played on the radio) through the use of an alias, one Peter Feeney! Derrane recorded the reel on a Copley Records 78 RPM in the late 1940’s.
