LADY DALRYMPLE HAMILTON’S REEL. Scottish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Attributed to fiddler-composer Biography:John French (1752–1803) of Cumnock, Ayrhshire. The title refers probably to Jane Duncan (1779–1852), later Lady Dalrymple-Hamilton, daughter of Adam Duncan, 1st Viscount Duncan (1731–1804), the hero of the victory over the Dutch at Camerdon (1797).
