WHITE HORSE BREAKDOWN. Bluegrass, Breakdown. USA. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). Intro, AABB. Written by the 'Father of Bluegrass', Kentucky mandolinist Bill Monroe, and named for Whitehorse Mountain, a prominent peak near Darrington, Washington. Bill was performing in Darrington, and announced that he had just composed a new tune which needed a name. He asked for suggestions from the audience, and this is the one he chose.
