Mary Garden (1780-) was the daughter of Peter Garden and Katherine Garden (née Balneaes) of Troup and Delgaty. She married Thomas Burnett of Park as his second wife in 1806. See also Robert Petrie's "[[Miss Mary Garden (Delgaty's) Reel]]."
The Garden family genealogy is a complicated one due to the frequent use of 'Francis', 'Alexander' and 'Archibald' as given names to generations of members.

MISS MARY GARDEN OF TROUP'S REEL. Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Miss Mary Garden of Troup's Reel" was composed by Edinburgh fiddler-composer biography:Robert Mackintosh (c. 1745-1808) and printed in his Fourth Collection of New Strathspey Reels (c. 1804). Despite the word 'reel' in the title, the tune is in jig (6/8) time, with the word 'reel' in this case referring to a intertwining ('reeling') dance movement.

The Garden family genealogy is a complicated one due to the frequent use of 'Francis', 'Alexander' and 'Archibald' as given names to generations of members.
