AKA and see "When I Breathe A Fond Adieu," "Ar A' mBaile Seo Ta an Chuilfhionn" (In this village dwells the fair lady), "Cuilfhionn Brocach." Irish, Slow Air (3/4 time). G Major (O'Neill's): E Major (O'Sullivan/Bunting). Standard tuning (fiddle). One Part (Bunting): AB (O'Neill's). The melody can also be found in Crosby's Irish Musical Repository (pp. 164-165) under the title "Within this Village Dwells a Maid." O'Sullivan (1983) prints Gaelic words to the tune, whose origin is in Connacht Irish, "probably the same as that of the tune." Source for notated version: the air was noted by the Irish collector Edward Bunting at Deel Castle, Ballina, County Mayo, in 1792. O'Neill (Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies), 1903; No. 446, p. 78. O'Sullivan/Bunting, 1983; No. 15, pp. 22 23.
