In the last decade of the 18th century a development of the tune was printed by both Daniel McLaren (1794) and James Aird (1796) as "[[Miss Douglas's Favourite]]" AKA "[[Tuath is Deas]]."   The tune was also entered into the 1840 music manuscript collection of multi-instrumentalist John Rook, of Waverton, Cumbria.
