Composed by Charles Duff and found in the Charles Duff's Selection of Strathspeys, Reels, Jiggs, etc. (c. 1795). Another tune in the collection is titled "Miss Margaret Moir's Strathspey," perhaps named for a sister. The strathspey is popular among Cape Breton fiddlers and has been recorded several times.
