ABB (Sharp): AABB (most versions). The tune was first published in 1657 by Playford (see "[[Black Nag (1) (The)]]"). The melody has gained some currency in modern times in American countra dance cirles where as a jig it is the vehicle for a set dance for three couples, as well retaining popularity with English country dance enthusiasts.
