The tune was recorded by the group The Smoky Chimney as “Micho Russell’s,” but recorded by Solas as “Timmy Clifford’s.” The latter title honors Tim Clifford, originally from Scartaglin, who at one time lived next door to Seamus Egan in Chicago, from whom Egan learned the tune. Clifford presently lives in the northwest suburbs of the city, but spends part of the year back in Kerry. It is a setting of “Munster Lass (The).” Solas.
