SHE HUNG HER PETTICOAT OUT TO DRY. Irish, Air (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Albert Perceval Graves printed words to a comic song called "The Ass and the Petticoat" in his Countryside Songs (1908, p. 61), which may be related to the air George Petrie collected. The first couple of stanzas go:

She hung her petticoat out to dry,
Sweet Kitty Kelly of Achonry;
When the Carroll's hungry ass came by
And made his meal upon it.

And when that same he had finished quite,
Devourin' on with all his might,
He choked to death, and serve him right,
On Kitty's sweet sunbonnet.

The first strain of "She hung her petticoat out to dry" is shared with "Jumping Rogue (La)."
