Paul de Grae identifies it as a version of O'Neill's "Spellan's Fiddle" ('''Music of Ireland''', 1903, No. 616). The beginning measures of the second part were incorporated into the beginning of the second part of O'Neill's "[[Star Hornpipe (1)]]."
