Irish, Double Jig. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Breathnach (1976) finds the tune under the title "Bemthe goal" from the same district as his County Limerik source, McEnery. As "Jackson's Humours of Panteen" it appears in '''Jackson's Celebrated Irish Tunes''' (Dublin, 1780, pg. 3), and as "Peas on the Hob" it is given in Stanford/Petrie (1905, No. 1356). Both Bunting and O'Neill print it as "Huish the Cat." Breathnach also finds the first part to be similar to that of Joyce's "Foxy Mary" (1909, pg. 114), and says it may be related to "Bímid ag Ól" [2] in CRE I.
