B FLAT RAG. Old-Time, Country Rag. USA, Kentucky. The Madisonville String Band was a group from Hopkins County, Kentucky, who recorded seven sides for Gennett in 1930. Guthrie Meade (1980) stylistically links them with Southwest bands of the era such as the East Texas Serenaders and Taylor's Louisiana Melody Makers because of the Madisonville's penchant for waltzes, rags and marches.
