Although not identical, the Gow family's "[[Lord James Murray (1)]]" is a cognate tune with the same structure and harmonic underpinning, and with much of the melodic content the same or similar.  The composition is credited to Dow's contemporary, Niel Gow (1727-1807), in the '''Fifth Collection of Strathspey Reels''' (1809).
