It was not the first time that Allard recorded the tune, as he had earlier recorded it for Victor as "[[Reel du Pêcheur]]."  Later, Allard recorded still another version as "[[Reel de la paix]]." Allard researcher Jean Duval finds the reel to be a version of "[[Democratic Rage Hornpipe]]" in '''Ryan's Mammoth Collection''' (1883).  Fiddler Ferdinand Larouche recorded a version of the tune very similar to Allard's, for Victor Records in 1933 under the title "[[Reel de la Pointe Bleue]]."
