FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN [7]. American, Reel (cut time). USA, Kentucky. A Mixolydian. AEae tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The tune is unique to the repertoire of Magoffin County, Ky., fiddler John Salyer, who recorded it on a home recording in December, 1941. It is only distantly related to other "Fire on the Mountain Tunes," though most similar to the first strain of the Canebreak Rattler's "Fire on the Mountain (4)."
