WET AND WEARY [1]. AKA and see "Kissing and Drinking (2)." English, Jig and Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest appearance of the tune in print in Neil Stewart's 1761 collection (p. 25), however, it earlier was published in London by John Johnson in his Choice Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 4 (1748, p. 90). In Ireland, a version of both strains is the jig "Kissing and Drinking (2)" and the first strain is shared with the Irish jig "One-Horned Cow (1) (The)."
