GIGUE IRLANDAISES [2]. AKA - "Gigue irlandaises No. 2." French-Canadian, Reel (cut and 3/2 time). G Major/Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABBB'ABBB'ABBC. "Gigue irlandaises No. 1" and "Gigue irlandaises No. 2" were the first two tunes ever recorded by prolific Montreal fiddle-master and recording artist Biography:Isidore Soucy (1899-1963). Soucy researcher Jean Duval finds Soucy's tune to be a medley consisting of versions of three Irish reels: "Preston's Reel," "Bunch of Keys (1)/Flowers of Limerick (1) (The)", and "Ladies' Pantalettes (1) (The)"^[1].
