SLIEVENAMON [2] {Sliab-na-mBan} (The Mountain of the Women). AKA - "Cornphíopa Shliabh na mBan." AKA and see "Slievman's Hornpipe." Irish, Hornpipe (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The 'Slievenamon' title is Anglicised Irish Gaelic for Slibh na mBan, 'The Mountain of Women'. Where O'Neill obtained the tune is unknown; he is silent about it, and it has yet to surface in older collections. Cape Breton fiddler Winston "Scotty" Fitzgerald recorded the tune as "<incipit title="load:slievman" width=850 link="https://tunearch.org/wiki/Slievman's Hornpipe">Slievman's Hornpipe</incipit>."
