KILLIMOR JIG. AKA and see "Port Uí Cheallaigh," "Kelly's Jig," "Killimer Jig (The)," "Killimore Jig (The)." AKA - "Kylemore (The)." Irish, Double Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Nenagh, County Tipperary, fiddle and whistle player biography:Seán Ryan (1919-1985). Recorded versions at the Comhaltas Archive date to the late 1950's (1957 is the earliest date). The tune is printed by Breathnach in Ceol Rince na hÉireann vol. 1 as "Port Uí Cheallaigh/Kelly's Jig," from the playing of accordion player Sonny Brogan. Killimor (pronounced kill-EYE-mer) is a townland in east County Galway near Woodford, and not far from Sean Ryan's home across the Shannon River in Nenagh. There is a Killimor Ceili Band, as well.
