BIENFACILE, LA. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A country dance imported from France, or written in imitation of the French style. The melody also appears in Edward Riley's Riley's Flute Melodies, vol. 2 (New York, 1817, p. 64), and the dance instructions were entered by Seabrook, New Hampshire, musician Jeremiah Brown into his music and dance commonplace book begun in 1782.
