ABB (Sharp): AABB (most versions). The tune was first published in 1657 by Playford (see "Black Nag [1]," above). The melody has gained some currency in modern times in American countra dance cirles where as a jig it is the vehicle for a set dance for three couples, as well retaining popularity with English country dance enthusiasts.
