BRICKLAYER'S HORNPIPE [1]. American, Hornpipe. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Cole and Howe both print directions to a dance of the same name.
Source for notated version: the New Hampshire Fiddlers' Union [Phillips]. The N.H. Fiddler's Union (Skip Gorman, Rod Miller and Randy Miller) obtained the tune from the manuscript (Recollections of a Busy Life) of John Adams Taggart (1854-1943), a semi-professional musician in his younger years, originally from Sharon, New Hampshire. "Bricklayer's Hornpipe" appears in his manuscript as an untitled hornpipe.
