Back to Miss Wright's Fancy


MISS WRIGHT’S FANCY. English, Hornpipe or Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The first part of this tune is cognate with "Dunnechan" and "Miss Ranken’s Reel", although the second parts differ.

Source for notated version: the 1823-26 music mss of papermaker and musician Joshua Gibbons (1778-1871, of Tealby, near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire Wolds) [Sumner].
