LADY DOWN. Scottish, Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody appears in the 4th collection of Malcolm MacDonald of Dunkeld, a volume dedicated to the Countess of Breadalbane. A bit reminiscent of "Molly Put the Kettle On." Niel Gow Jr.'s "Honorable James Ramsay's Reel (The)", set in the key of 'A', has a similar melodic and harmonic contour.
