LEAVING LISMORE (Fagail Lismor). AKA - "Lismore No More." Scottish, Retreat March (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune, a piper's 'retreat march' (a slow march), is often played as an air or a waltz, is also a popular song tune. Set in waltz time it is also called "Valse Ecossaise." The island of Lismore (Lios Mòr) is in Loch Linnhe, Argyll, Inner Hebrides, to the west of mainland Scotland.
