MISS NISBET OF DIRLETON'S MINUET. Scottish, Minuet (3/4 time). The gentleman fiddler and composer Thomas Erskine, the Earl of Kelly, dedicated this tune to Mary, the daughter of Nisbet of Dirleton, an East Lothian laird and amateur musician who was a member of the Edinburgh Musical Society for much of his life (Johnson, 1984). See Annotation:Miss Nisbet of Dirleton for more information on Mary.
