CONNEMARA WEDDING, THE. Irish, Air (4/4 time). G Major/Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The name Connemara derives from the name of the ancient tribe who lived in that area of Ireland, the people of Con mac na Mara. The 2nd part is six measures, the first part is four. It is perhaps an air for the song "The Connemara Wedding" by Irish poet Micheál Mac Suibhne (c. 1760-1820).
