LITTLE PEGGY'S [2]. AKA and see "Paddy Whack (1)." American, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is a member of the "Paddy Whack (1)" tune family, that dates to at least c. 1756, when it was published as a jig and country dance in Rutherford's Compleat Collection of 200 of the Most Celebrated Country Dances (London). The melody has been employed for a variety of purposes, including several songs, among which are "Sweet Betsy from Pike" and "Villikins and His Dinah."
