Back to Miss Everilda Fraser
MISS EVERILDA FRASER. Scottish, March (whole time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Biography:Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831), perhaps in honor of Everilda Fraser (d. 1840), daughter of Sir John Fraser, a career army officer. She married, in 1839, Francis Rawdon Chesney (1789-1872), himself a career army officer and explorer from Ireland who was famous for navigating a land route to the East, via the Euphrates River. Unfortunately, she apparently only survived her wedding by a year.
