COLD FROSTY MORNING [3]. Old-Time, Quadrille (6/8 time). D Major. ADae tuning (fiddle). AABBBA. The source for the tune, Stephen B. Tucker of Lauderdale County, Mississippi, began playing the fiddle in the late 1860's and was recorded for the Library of Congress in 1939 by Herbert Halpert. The 6/8 jig rhythm is relatively rare in Southern old-time playing.
Recorded source: Mississippi Department of Archives and History AH-002, Stephen B. Tucker - "Great Big Yam Potatoes: Anglo-American Fiddle Music from Mississippi" (1985).
