MAID OF THE MILL [2]. English, Morris Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major (Mallinson): A Major (Bacon). Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB, x4. A variation of version #1. Collected in the village of Bampton, Oxfordshire, in England's Cotswolds. This rhyme is sometimes sung by dancers at the beginning of the dance:
The maid of the mill, the maid of the mill,
She says she won't but we know she will.
