MANTLE ON MANTLE (Falluinn air Fhalluinn). AKA and see "Fhallaingín Mhuimhneach (An)," "Munster Cloak (The)," "Spanish Cloak (The)." Air (6/8 time). D Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The air was popularized by The Chieftains, on their eponymous 1963 album.
Source for notated version: the distinguished sculptor Patrick MacDowell, born in Belfast 1799, d. 1870, via Forde (Joyce). MacDowell collected from all parts of Ireland, and was one of George Petrie's primary sources.
