Back to Draper's Gardens (2)
DRAPER'S GARDENS [2]. English, Country Dance Tune (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was a new inclusion to the long-running Dancing Master series, inserted by Henry Playford into the 13th edition of 1706. It was retained in the Dancing Master through the 18th and final edition of 1728 (then published in London by John Young). The dance later became associated with a different tune--see "Draper's Gardens (1)" or "Margravine's Waltz (The)".
Playford also included another new tune in his 13th edition, "Draper's Maggot."
