KANSAS CITY RAG. Old-Time, Country Rag. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'CC'DEE'. The tune was one of '100 essential Missouri tunes' listed by Missouri fiddler Charlie Walden. North-central Missouri fiddler Frank Reed's (1904-c. 1985) "Massa Bill" or "Mossy Bill" is a cognate tune.

Source for notated version: Biography:Pete McMahan (1918-2000, Montgomery County, Mo.) [Milliner & Koken]. McMahan was one of the finest "Little Dixie" style fiddlers in Missouri, and a frequent state champion fiddler.
