McDANAUGH'S CLOG. AKA and see "McDermott's Hornpipe (1)." Irish, Clog. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. A composite tune: the first two parts are "[[Galway Hornpipe (1) (The)]" (AKA "Baldheaded Bachelor (The)" while the last two are "Sligo Fancy (The)" (AKA "Flowers of Antrim (1) (The)"). It was recorded on a 78 RPM in this amalgamated version under the title "McDermott's" hornpipe in the 1920's by Sligo/New York fiddler Michael Coleman, and Paul Cranford (1997) thinks that either Fitzgerald or Angus Chisholm rearranged it from this source.

Winston Fitzgerald

Source for notated version: Winston Fitzgerald (1914-1987, Cape Breton) [Cranford].

Printed sources: Cranford (Winston Fitzgerald), 1997; No. 47, p. 18.

Recorded sources: Breton Books and Records BOC 1HO, Winston "Scotty" Fitzgerald - "Classic Cuts" (reissue of Celtic Records CX 44).
