C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. County Sligo fiddler Michael Coleman recorded the hornpipe as "The Western" in New York in 1927. Fiddler Hugh Gillespie (1906-1986), originally from County Donegal, recorded it (also in New York) in June, 1939, as "Mountain Stream" (paired with "Parker's Fancy").
