It also appears in print in David Rutherford's '''Compleat Collection of 200 of the Most Celebrated Country Dances''' (London, 1756), and Charles and Samuel Thompson's 1757 country dance collection. Cheapside, London, musician Walter Rainstorp included the melody (with John Johnson's title and alternate title) in his music manuscript book, begun in 1747. A version of the melody whose second strain matches that of the tune in Thompson was published by dancing master Thomas Wilson, although the first strains differ substantially.
