The first strain is the same as the American old-time tune "Little Billy Wilson/[[Billy Wilson (1)." The key change in the second part is a feature of many Canadian fiddle tunes.

Source for notated version: Joe Pancerzewski (northeastern USA), the 'fiddling engineer,' who learned the tune at the Queensland Ballroom, Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1932.
