Oscar and Malvina was an 'favorite pantomime' by William Reeve (1757-1815) published in London in 1791 and produced throughout the last decade of the 18th century, of the next. O'Farrell, an Irish uilleann piper probably from County Waterford, was one of the principal instrumentalists in the production, along with a Scottish harp player. Pieces from the opera proved quite popular both in the British Isles and in America.
