The title is a reference to fiddler Denis Murphy’s father, known as 'Bill the Weaver', although alternate titles bear the names of a number of mid-20th century Sliabh Luachra fiddlers, including brother and sister Denis Murphy and Julia Clifford, itinerent fiddle-master Pádraig O'Keeffe, and accordion player Johnny O'Leary.
