OLD WHEELS OF THE WORLD, THE. AKA and see "Apples in Winter (3)," "Mountain Lark (1) (The)," "Rolling down the Hill (2)." Irish, Reel. Standard tuning (fiddle). A Dorian. AB. No relation to "Wheels of the World (1)." Irish violinist R.M. Levey first published a version of the tune in his 1858 First Collection as "Apples in Winter (3)," and Francis O'Neill printed the tune as "Rolling down the Hill." It was recorded in the 78 RPM era by fiddler Francis Cashin and Tom Cawley as "Mountain Lark (1) (The).
