PIPER'S PICNIC, THE ("Flead na Piobairaca" or "Aeribeact na bPiobairi"). Irish, Double Jig. A Major (O'Neill): A Mixolydian (Flaherty). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. There actually is an event called the 'Piper's Picnic' that has been held in Earltown, Colchester County, Nova Scotia, for over fifty years.

Sources for notated versions: the playing partners of Chicago police Sergeant James Early and John McFadden, a piper and fiddler from adjoining counties in the province of Connaght [O’Neill]; tin whistle player Jimmy McGettrick (b. 1909, Aughris, Rathmullen, Ballymote) [Flaherty].
