The tune is related to "Lady Baird's Strathspey" printed in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883). It is plausible that the Irish title is a miss-hearing of the original "Lady Baird" via its being called "Mrs. Baird", and then to "Lasses of St. Barry's."
